The Evolution of Ink

laser toner cartridges

At one time the quill pen was the pinnacle of inking technology.  The quill would have to be dipped in ink again and again after only a few words had been written, tiring out the arm, the hand, and exhausting the mind further.  In the years to come, the fountain pen was invented, which combined the pen and the ink, but suffered from leaking and spotting on the page.  In more modern times, the ball point pen was invented, and followed the type press, or typewriter which was the first widespread mechanical inking instrument.

Modern technology advanced to the extent that now computer printers do almost all of the work and, in general, pens are seldom used except for jotting down notes.  Sales of ink cartridges and laser toner cartridges now dominate the ink market, and down the road, pens might become obsolete all together.

The Xerox Name

Xerox, a name that became synonymous with the action of ‘making copies’ in the late 20th century, is one of the most trusted names in printing.  Back when scanners were a developing technology and printers were still in their infancy, the Xerox machine was where people made copies.  It was common to hear phrases like “I need to go Xerox these papers before the meeting!”, and this terminology is still carried on today.  In addition to their renowned copy machines, Xerox is also a premier manufacturer of printers, drawing on their experience from their well known copy machines.  A Xerox printer is one of the most reliable printers in the industry, and boasts an excellent print quality as well.

You can purchase Xerox printers and Xerox ink cartridge refills at most all retailers of fine quality printers.  In addition to their reliability, Xerox is well known for their simple to understand interface; another feature imported from their experience with copy machines.

Don’t Buy Ink From Dell!

Dell products represent the latest in high technology, and also the best in quality.  But when you purchase from Dell, you might not know that they earn a lot of their revenues on shipping.  Dell overcharges for shipping and turns a significant profit, especially on personal computers, laptops, high definition televisions, and bulkier items.  For owners of Dell printers, it’s important that you don’t purchase ink from the manufacturer.  Whenever you purchase from Dell you’re overpaying for shipping, even if it’s just a smaller item.

If you purchase Dell ink cartridges online, it’s best to go through a third party or purchase from a retail website.  You should make sure that you are purchasing the right cartridge for your printer of course, and this can be done by looking at the serial or model number located on the back of your Dell printer.

Dell’s Simple Beginnings

Dell’s Simple Beginnings

Today Dell is one of the most renowned manufacturers of computers and electronic devices, but it was not always that way.  Unlike industry giants IBM, Compaq, or Apple, Dell didn’t become a leading producer until late in the 1990s.  The reason Dell revolutionized computers was because of its innovative system for customization; Dell allowed you to literally build your own computer.  In addition, Dell offered technical support and warranties better than those of its competitors, and because all of this was so convenient to the consumer, Dell sales surged forward.  When Dell began to grow, it started to branch into other technologies like high definition televisions, digital cameras, and printers, and is now a leading seller of those products as well.

Though you can purchase a Dell computer in stores now, the same quality and customization is available in its new products just as the originals.  Products like Dell printer ink, Dell memory cards, and Dell peripherals for computers give the company a steady stream of sales in addition to their larger purchases, and help the company continue to advance as a leader in technology.
