The Perfect Gift for College Students

College students will often need to print hundreds of papers throughout their career in higher education. In addition, a lot of the time college tuition doesn’t cover printing costs at major universities. Because those printing costs can start to add up fast, a Lexmark printer is the perfect gift for a college student. Lexmark manufactures a wide range of affordable printers that are ideal for the college student who needs to print papers, reports, and required reading articles. In addition, Lexmark ink cartridges in both black/white and color are quite affordable on a college student’s budget. Unlike expensive ink cartridges from other printer manufacturers, Lexmark ink cartridges use premium ink and are more cost efficient than the competition. Lexmark printers are so reliable that the student will be able to use the same printer for their entire college career.

June is graduation season, and even if the student in your family isn’t graduating, it’s a great time to buy them a Lexmark printer for next year. Make sure to buy a few extra Lexmark ink cartridges too!

Convenience with Apple Products

Apple has always been at the head of technological innovation, but in recent years, Apple has become even more of an industry titan, eclipsing other tech companies in product quality and overall sales.  Apple is renowned for its innovation, and all Apple products feature a clean and user friendly interface.  For these reasons, Apple has seen a lot of success amongst college students and business people.  Apple laptops are the #1 laptops amongst college students, though these numbers are somewhat skewed as the various manufacturers of laptops run with the same Microsoft Windows program.  In essence, Apple is competing more with Microsoft than individual manufacturers like Dell and HP, and in comparison to Microsoft’s Windows Vista OS, the Apple OS is better in the eyes of most, if not all consumers.

Apple also manufactures all kinds of peripherals for their computers, including printers and Apple toner cartridges, portable media devices like the iPod which functions with an Apple computer, and much more.

The Xerox Name

Xerox, a name that became synonymous with the action of ‘making copies’ in the late 20th century, is one of the most trusted names in printing.  Back when scanners were a developing technology and printers were still in their infancy, the Xerox machine was where people made copies.  It was common to hear phrases like “I need to go Xerox these papers before the meeting!”, and this terminology is still carried on today.  In addition to their renowned copy machines, Xerox is also a premier manufacturer of printers, drawing on their experience from their well known copy machines.  A Xerox printer is one of the most reliable printers in the industry, and boasts an excellent print quality as well.

You can purchase Xerox printers and Xerox ink cartridge refills at most all retailers of fine quality printers.  In addition to their reliability, Xerox is well known for their simple to understand interface; another feature imported from their experience with copy machines.

Selecting the Right Printer Ink

Let’s face it, selecting the correct printer ink can be a real hassle because of all the different brands, models, variations of ink, etc.  In addition, it’s hard to know whether a retailer even has the correct ink until you’ve been there.  Because of this, the best place to buy printer ink is online, but even locating the correct printer ink online can be a challenge.  Take these steps to find the right printer ink and then bookmark the page where you buy it!

(for the purpose of providing an example, we’ll be using a Samsung ML Series printer)

1.) First identify the brand of printer you have, this should be easily identifiable on the printer, and if not, look at the label underneath.  Common printer brands include Canon, Samsung, Brother, Lexmark, and Epson.  For this example, we’ll say the printer is a Samsung.

2.) Next identify the model, which can be a little bit difficult.  The easiest place to find the model of the printer is in the manual (it should say on the first page or the cover).  If you don’t have a manual, check the label on the back or bottom of the printer.  Our example printer turns out to be a Samsung ML-2010.

3.) Once you have the brand and the model, just perform a standard search for this kind of ink, and select color, black and white, or other special inks.  We’ve now found the correct Samsung printer ink (black) for our Samsung ML-2010 printer!

The Leading Name in Printing

In a time when it wasn’t common for people to own personal printers, how often did you hear “I need find somewhere to use a Xerox machine”.  In the past the name Xerox became synonymous with that of a photocopier because almost all photocopiers were manufactured by Xerox.  Xerox has been a leading name in printing for almost two decades longer than its closest competitors in the current printer market.  Like their famed photocopiers, Xerox printers represent contemporary design and excellent quality.  With a Xerox printer and Xerox printer ink, you can rest assured that you have a reliable printer that will retain its functionality for years to come.

In addition, many high end Xerox printers also function as photocopiers, fax machines, and scanners, so when you purchase a Xerox printer, you know you’re receiving more than just a great device for printing!

Don’t Buy Ink From Dell!

Don’t Buy Ink From Dell!

Dell products represent the latest in high technology, and also the best in quality.  But when you purchase from Dell, you might not know that they earn a lot of their revenues on shipping.  Dell overcharges for shipping and turns a significant profit, especially on personal computers, laptops, high definition televisions, and bulkier items.  For owners of Dell printers, it’s important that you don’t purchase ink from the manufacturer.  Whenever you purchase from Dell you’re overpaying for shipping, even if it’s just a smaller item.

If you purchase Dell ink cartridges online, it’s best to go through a third party or purchase from a retail website.  You should make sure that you are purchasing the right cartridge for your printer of course, and this can be done by looking at the serial or model number located on the back of your Dell printer.

It was my senior year at college, and the end of my last semester to boot.  I had spent all of the previous night writing my final essay for my Psychology 430 class.  When I woke up and read it that morning, it even made sense and I found that I liked it, which was quite rare when it came to papers!  I made sure to print it out and slipped it in my notebook, then I headed off to class.  The bus was late, so I ended up almost being late to class, and when I was about to step into the classroom I reached in my backpack for my notebook and it wasn’t there!

I looked all through my backpack but realized that the notebook wasn’t there.  I did have my USB flash drive with me, so I ran to the university library.  I found a free computer, plugged in the flash drive, and loaded my paper, then hit print.  But then the printer was out of ink!  I had to ask an attendant for more Epson printer ink and all they had was a color cartridge!  I had to print my paper in blue, and then showed up to class late.  Luckily, my professor hadn’t collected the essays yet, so aside from the color, I was in the clear!

Amongst printers, there are several different types that utilize different methods to print, and one type, the dye-sublimation printer, uses a unique printer ribbon that layers colors one at a time.  Often called Dye-sub printers for short, these printers produce the highest quality images, but aren’t as well suited for standard text.  When these printers emerged they were limited to high-end print shops, but now they’re more commonly found in the homes of average consumers.  Though these printers cost more than your standard toner printer, they’re ideal for producing high quality images.

In addition, printer ribbons, which are the disposable ‘ink cartridges’ of Dye-sub printers, are just as affordable as regular ink and toner cartridges.
